Here is a feet to meter calculator which might be useful for homework exercises and general purposes..

Remember that:

1 foot = 0.304 800 609 6012 meter = about 0.3048 meters
1 inch = 2.5400 cm

so, for instance,for a feet to meter conversion of say 7 feet and 2 inches you apply the above rules in the following way

So 7'2'' = 2.1844 meters = about 218 centimeters

(Mind the fact that you must convert 5.08 cm into meter as well before adding the two intermediate results)
