Fractions as Division

Considering fractions as division is not a natural association according to expert [1].

Yes, probably everybody knows that "1/4 of something" is that "something" divided by 4.

For example, one quarter of an hour is 15 minutes (60 divided by 4).

But what about, say, 10/4 ?

Is this a division?

As a matter of fact 10/4 means "ten divided by 4". Litterally.

10/4 = 10:4 = 2.5

A fraction is a division between two numbers: the "top" divided by the "bottom" (the numerator divided by the denominator)

A fraction is thus ONE value

Exercise.

Which number are

9/3 ?

16/4?

25/7?

1250/25?
